Working for a small Accountancy firm where everyone works very much as part of a team, you will be happy to work within this environment where there could be a real opportunity to develop existing skills.

Some key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Preparing draft accounts to final review stage for sole traders, partnerships and Ltd Companies
  • Preparing of draft Personal Tax and Corporation Tax computations and Returns
  • Liaising with clients and advising them on accounting systems and processes
  • Using Practice Accounting Software and other computerised accounting software packages such as Sage and Xero
  • Ensuring that all office and accounting procedures are followed
  • Dealing with client queries over the telephone or face to face, attending meetings as required

 

Skills and experience required:

 

  • A thorough understanding of Fixed Assets, Depreciation, Prepayments, Accruals and Deferred Income
  • A good understanding of VAT and PAYE
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • An excellent relationship builder and team player
  • AAT qualified
  • Part ACCA Qualified (preferred)
